As part of our day, we provide a simple snack for our students.  The Center for Disease Control reports that the prevalence of food allergy in children has increased exponentially in the past 20 years.  We take seriously our obligation to keep all children safe at school.  Therefore, we may need to limit the type of snacks brought into a classroom to celebrate birthdays or holidays.

Teachers will provide information to parents in their classroom as needed to keep all children safe. We will provide a "Safe Snack" list tailored to each classroom with dietary restrictions.  If your child has a food allergy or dietary restriction, we will also work with you on an Emergency Action Plan.

When parents are bringing a special snack we always encourage simple snacks of fruits and vegetables.  Learning about healthy food is an important lesson for young children.
